For the love of baking

Passion. Purpose.
And the Perfect Crust.

“Everything I bake continues a tradition begun by generations past, and each creation celebrates a connection to the people, places and times that shape us all.

I make my mother’s crust, and every bite takes me back to her table. But the love she put into her recipes and techniques wasn’t unique to her. The care every parent takes when baking for their family, the love that comes through in every bite – that’s what touches the soul.

Baking creates an opportunity for connection by honoring the past, making memories for the future, and – more than anything else – bringing sweet delight to the moment.”

Sara

My wonderful family

My husband has been, and continues to be a huge supporter of Sara’s Tipsy Pies. Without his support, I would never be able to devote my time to baking my pies. I also have five truly amazing children who bring an indescribable amount of joy to my life. I want to thank them all, as their love and support carry me.

Madi inspires us

On February 18, 2003, my husband Chris and I received our second of five bundles of joy (yes, five!). Madi arrived on a snowy February afternoon. She was two weeks early and to our total surprise, Madi was born with Down syndrome.

Everyone said it would be hard, and no doubt, there are extra worries and concerns with raising a child with special needs. But more than anything, having a child with down syndrome has been a joy, because having children is a joy. Madi’s diagnosis provided me with new perspectives, ways to love, and a deeper appreciation for the little things.

I am thankful for the many resources available to help parents of children with special needs; organizations like The Down Syndrome Association of Minnesota, Special Olympics Minnesota and Valley Friendship Club of Stillwater. Because of their support, I want to do my part to pay forward their kindness and to raise awareness of down syndrome, what it means to have a child with Down syndrome, and how people with down syndrome play a vital role in our lives and communities.

Pie with a Purpose

Every year since 2014, our Pies with a Purpose campaign has donated a portion of our proceeds to the Valley Friendship Club Stillwater.

As a parent, you realize that your love is not based on your child’s ability, but on your own ability to accept your children for who they are and how they enrich your life. Our daughter Madi is a blessing and a gift. Along with her siblings Mason, Cody, Wyatt and Averi, she makes our world a brighter, happier place to live. We’re proud to support these organizations’ efforts to make the world a more welcoming place for Madi and all people with Down Syndrome.

I planned a road trip to pick up my online order at the shop in Stillwater. I ordered the combo pack. I received a call. She would drop off my order on her way home. Amazing! Incredibly kind. The pies were very good. If you go to the MN State Fair, stop their booth, support a small business

I'm celiac (gluten free) and was reccomended to check out Sarah's Tipsy Pies while visiting Stillwater. I was expecting them to have several GF treat options but they only had one - none the less, it was delicious! I also got a super tasty Elderberry Lemonade. The Tart is a GF Irish Pecan. I would return should I be in Stillwater again!

I was lucky enough to be able to have Tipsy Pies as the dessert at my wedding. Sara does an incredible job not only with how delicious and perfect her pies are but with having all the details organized and laid out for me to follow and plan for. She treats you so well as a costumer! I now travel an hour for some phenomenal and homemade desserts because they are so worth it.

For those if you looking for a hidden gem, this store is it! Making super cute, unique pies and baked goods fresh for you and your special events. That's right, people have these pies at their wedding receptions, grad parties, family reunions and more! I loved physically going to the store because it's nice to shop again and see people's faces. I brought my friends because I had bragged about how tasty the pies were and they ended up leaving with super cute handmade clay mugs, aprons, kitchen goodies, and sweet treats. I like that they support other local homemade producers and gift supplies, because that's what makes the world go round! Leanne is a wonderful pie baker and we love her 😍 Sara's staff are so friendly, helpful and really love to help make people's days sweeter. Oh! They also have coffee LITTERALLY from one of their friend's family farms in Costa Rica. Talk about straight from the source! They have Costa Rican creamer, too (😱🤩🤩🤩🤩😱 so good!!!). 10/10 recommend. Hot pies. Frozen pies to go. Goodies. Artisan Coffee. What more can you ask for??? 😍😍😍😍
